LIVING THE LIFE (SO SO MUCH SWAGG VIDEO)

Just to bring you up to par, take a look at the 1st video release from the Ocean's 7 Mixtape.

It’s finally time; the Ocean’s 7 Mixtape will be released on May 29th. I can’t wait. For the longest time, we have been watching JD create the beats and we’ve been watching the Ocean’s guys lay their verses down. We have seen the induction of 2 more members (Trey Songz aka. Songz 00711 and Nelly aka. Mo Green) and even watched Bow Wow appear in the So Much Swag video as the honorary 8th member since he wouldn’t fully commit to the dress code. Now the wait is finally over. Bring on that hot shit for the summer. For those of you Non Lifers who aren’t familiar with the whole Ocean’s 7 crew, it is all about having a good time, being positive and living life to the fullest all while putting out great music and keeping your swag game on point. And when you have as much money as they do, life is supposed to be this good.

Ocean’s Seven, which includes Jermaine Dupri, Nelly, Usher, Trey Songz, singer/songwriter Johnta Austin, producer/writer Bryan Michael Cox and So So Def’s Tyrone Davis. The crew made their official debut with the video “So So Much Swag.”

Melo's Putting on a Show...

Game 1 = 39 pts, 6 Reb, 4 Ast.
Game 2 = 34 pts, 9 Reb, 4 Ast.
His 5th Straight 30+ point game. WOW

Did you happen to check out the Western Conference Finals Game 2? Lakers vs. Nuggets. What about Carmelo Anthony? Is he on complete fire or what? If you've read any of my earlier blog entries you will see that I have been down with Carmelo for a while now. While everyone was on the Kobe, LaBron, DWade train (okay I was too) Carmelo was lighting up the score board and propelling the Nuggets into the Playoffs. I am so proud of him. He didn't get into the MVP hype and just chilled and played his game. According to him, he perfected his game all of this season adding much more defense and team basketball to the arsenal after listening and learning a lot during last summer as part of the US Men's Basketball team. I have really taken notice from the beginning though. Having Carmelo on my Fantasy Basketball team and watching him bring me through almost every game, I knew he was going to show the world what he had once he got a chance. He was one of two players (Mo Williams) on my team that I could really count on throughout the season.

It is just so funny how everyone has jumped on the Carmelo ban wagon now. Everyone from the TNT staff to the NBA-TV staff and the ESPN staff also. Like he just got this good. Give me a break. I know Carmelo is laughing his ass off every time he hears someone put his name on the elite list now. Cuz he just kept it cool all season and did his damn thing and now the lights are on him and he is giving to the world. Great job MELO. I am one of the biggest Kobe fans ever and I really believe that you can never go against Kobe because hell, he is Kobe. But, I since he already has a couple of rings, I am really hoping the Nuggets will make it out of this series. I can't wait to see a Carmelo vs. LaBron showdown. I got you though Melo. Holla.

Could You Go 7 Day Without Electronics???

Trying to keep this thing going. So today I watched a episode of Oprah which got me to thinking as only Oprah can. On the show there were three families who signed up for a 7 day experiment which required them to give up all of their electronics. In 2009 that is really a hard thing to do. And some of the family members took it kind of hard in the beginning. But towards the end of the 7 days, the family had discovered many new activities to do around the house with their family members. I understand the concept and everything but it really got me to thinking about if I could actually give up ALL electronics for a whole week. I agree family is important and you should really devote your time to doing family activities, but for a whole week without anything. I am talking stripped to just family and conversation. In the experiment each family had to take everything electronic out of the house and put it into a van which was driven away by the Oprah show. No cell phones, No TV's, No IPods, No Computers, Nothing. How would you cope? Could you do it? What would you miss the most? It is a very interesting experiment considering how much we all depend heavily on these things on a day to day basis. But I really think the reward of family time will outweigh the burden of giving everything up. But of course this is coming from a person who will lose her mind if I even think for a second that I don't have my IPod or cell phone with me. So what do you think? Holla.

Russell Simmons Presents Brave New Voices: Episode 1 (HBO)

This show is incredible. So much passion from young kids. It is worth checking out. Russell Simmons has done it again.

Brave New Voices...

Told you I am trying to make up for the days I haven't been posting.
While on Twitter last week, LaLa Vasquez mentioned a show she was watching and I had a chance to catch the show on HBO recently titled "Brave New Voices" it is Presented by Russell Simmons and hosted by Idris Elba (yes ladies). Take a look for yourself. It really will give you hope and inspiration for the future. The kids really have it together. They have a message and are determined to deliver it. I have been to poetry readings before, but nothing like this. This is a wake up call. It lets you know that there are some people in the younger generation who really care and aren't just spiraling out of control. They are paying attention to life and understanding that this is not how it is supposed to be. Two of the kids were also invited to the White House to preform for President and Mrs. Obama. Wow, how inspiring is that. It is a series so try to check it out if you can. Hope you enjoy. Holla.

It's Been a While...

Okay, I know it's been a while since I have posted a blog, but I promise I am going to make it up to you. There has really been a lot going on lately. Mother's Day, 2 Birthday's, NBA Playoffs you know it gets real hard to keep up. I may have to do mobile blogging to catch up. Anyway, let's get it.

First thing first. Happy Birthday to Feezah and Mike.

I have no idea where the hell Mike is, cuz he hasn't been around in a while but where ever you are, I hope you had a great B-Day. Whenever I see you, we are going to have to crack open some Grey Goose and get down like we do.

As for Feezah, we went out this weekend to celebrate. Shot a little Pool on Friday night and drank some really good Grey Goose and Orange Juice. Shout out to the bartender who mixed the hell out of those drinks. I was in there. We will catch up with you again. Then on Saturday, we went to the club. Good looking out to the Security Guard who made sure we didn't have to stand in that long ass line. You made my debut back to the club scene so much better. This for me is a big deal cuz I haven't been to the club since I had my last baby almost a year ago so it was kind of weird to me. But nothing a Grey Goose and Orange Juice can't cure. I met a very interesting girl at the club who needed someone to talk to because it seems like she has been through a lot over the past year or so. So, I was glad I could be there for her. We had some good conversation. So shout out to Danielle.

Oh Shit... I just realized we missed another Birthday. Oh shout out to (Do What Now?) and his son. I am so sorry. I just thought about the date and I think we were supposed to go to your son's party on Saturday. Damn. I really apologize. It really slipped my mind because we never got a invite to post up or anything. You know it is chaos over here some times. I have got to tell Hubby. I know he probably don't have a clue either. We will have to make it up to you. Damn. That is all I can say. I hope the party was fun. Please forgive us. You know the kids are going to be mad when I tell them. Oh Shit, Holla.

Happy Mother's Day

To all the Mothers out there, I just want to wish a Happy Mother's Day. It is finally here. This is our day. A day to just sit back and relax while all the father's do the work. You know we get only 1 day so make is special. Do exactly what you want to do. Eat good, relax good and watch a little NBA playoffs. Oh yeah, well that's what I'll be doing. Go Lakers. This thing is getting pretty interesting. In honor of Mother's Day, I have changed my Blog photo to reflect some things that just make me happy. I look at this photo and just think it is gorgeous. These are just a couple of things I wouldn't mind having in my life. Anyway, enjoy the day and I will get back to some real talk tomorrow. Or maybe even later today depending on the Lakers game. Holla.

These shoes make me happy...

Armadillo Striped Satin d'Orsay
I am sure you can tell from the title that this one is not for the guys following this blog unless you want to make your girl really happy with these gorgeous shoes. It will definitely cost you though. At a price of $865 who wouldn't be happy to get these. They are just perfect. They are from Christian Louboutin. As you can see they have the signature Christian Louboutin red heel. I don't think I have ever seen a sexier shoe. And if you have beautiful feet like me, then you know you can't go wrong. They can be purchased online directly from the website or you can pick them up at your local Neiman Marcus. So if you are in the market for dropping almost a "G" on a pair of shoes, here ya go. They just make me so happy. They also come in Red but it is just a solid shade of red. Not this like beautiful multi colored blue shade. That is what makes it stand out. I am in the process of creating a new photo for my blog page so you will definitely see this on my new photo page along with some other hot shit. You know how I do. Now I am also on a mission to find the perfect dress or outfit for these beauties so I will have it all together when I am ready to make my purchase. :) Holla.

My Stamp of Approval

I thought I would pass along a little info to get your summer going right. I have given the following 2 CD's my stamp of approval. Meaning: Put them in and let them ride.

Check out the new album from The Dream entitled "Love vs. Money". It is something that I think people will appreciate. I can actually put it in a let it go. There are about 2 songs I don’t really listen to, but for a CD with 14 songs on it, then that isn’t a bad rating. Hell, for any CD that isn’t a bad rating. But please note, it is not a CD for children so if you plan on putting it on in the Living Room or while you are in the car with the kids then I strongly advise you not to because he does have a foul mouth. But that's how I like'em and the CD is really hot.

Also check out the new CD from Rick Ross entitled “Deeper than Rap”. It is really a good one too. Not only has he come back, but he has come back strong. I guess he wanted to send a message to 50. The beats are good, the lyrics are good and the production is good. And he is still talking about his usual drugs, money and women so the script is the same. I put this one in and let it ride too. It is really worth checking out.

So there you go. If you are into R&B then check out The Dream entitled "Love Vs. Money" or for all of the Rap/Hip Hop people go get that "Deeper than Rap" by Rick Ross. Holla.

LBJ is MVP

This is my last post for the day. So to those who say I don't post like I should. Well, you're right. But hell here are 3 posts back to back. Now what.

I am sure you have heard by now that LaBron James has been named the NBA MVP of 2008-2009 season. I am very proud of him. I think he deserves it even though many of you know I was going for Dwyane Wade. But you can't deny what LaBron has been able to do with that team. And oh yeah, I did pick The Cavaliers for my East team this season. So I am still a winner. But anyway, the league name him today and he accepted his award in Ohio at his former high school. He drove up in his Ferrari looking good. You know, in a NBA multi-millionaire kind of way. According to him, there was no better place to accept his award than his former high school because that is the place where all of his dreams started. What a way to go back to your old high school. Holla.

Not the Celtics again

Moving on from my D-Wade upset. I am looking at this damn Orlando vs. Boston game and 1st off, I can't even believe Boston made it this far. Chicago really gave them a run for their money. No one thought Chicago would be able to play them like that. Boston just has the experience and they know what to do when the pressure is on. Plus you can't deny the fact that Kevin Garnett is keeping them fueled. I really like seeing him on the sidelines because I really believe that's where he will be one day. Ever since he entered the league he has been a leader and he definitely has the heart to be a coach. He just looks so comfortable in that role. Doc Rivers needs to watch out because I am sure he is influencing the team more than the coach. He should be over there calling plays and everything since he is really the heart of the team. I know they say Paul Pierce is the team captain, but I know the real deal and Kevin does too. Honestly, if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't give a damn about the Celtics. I do like Ray Allen too. So let me say that. But the rest of the team doesn't even matter. I am glad those two got their rings since they are older guys but I don't think they will be getting another one. Holla.

Okay... So the Heat didn't do it.

Okay, so I was wrong about the Heat vs. Hawks game. But I wasn't wrong about my man D-Wade. He scored 31 points which was the game high. He just didn't have much help. Michael Beasley and Udonis Haslem helped but I guess it wasn't enough. I still doesn't change my views about D-Wade. I still believe his is amazing. He will be back and as soon as he gets some real help from his team, they may even be able to get him another Championship. I will remember all of the great shit D-Wade has done this season and I will definitely tune in next season because I know he will be ready. Holla.

I'm Going with D. Wade

So as many of you NBA fans know, the Hawks vs. Heat game is today at 1:00pm. I can't wait. I had to get on her to post a blog before the game came on so that I can let everybody know how it is about to go down. I live here in Atlanta and the whole city is buzzing about the Hawks being back and home for this game and how we are going to take the Heat out, but I say " you can't bet against a guy like D-Wade. As you should know from one of my earlier blogs. I fucks with D-Wade heavy. I am behind him 100%. I actually think he should be the NBA's MVP of 2008 but of course everyone else is hung up on Kobe and LaBron. Which I understand the argument on those guys so I'm not hatin. But back to this Heat/Hawks match up. The Heat are going to straight embarrass the Hawks. The whole crowd will be there to see the Hawks lose. Sorry ATL.

But I remember back before the season started and the Olympic Trials were going on and D-Wade was leading the team at that time. He was the reason we won the Gold in China this year. He carried the team when some of the others were slipping. So at that time I stated that I was riding with D-Wade all year. He looked like he was in great condition then. He was back 100% from his previous injuries which led the Heat to the worst season record to date and he was ready to play. I knew from that moment that as long as he could stay healthy this season, he would be ridiculous on the court. Then he has had the best statistical season of his career. He's averaging 30.2 points a game, 7.5 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game. He leads the team in point, assists, steals and minutes(38) per game. Then there is the period of time right after the All Star break where he just lost his damn mind and put it on everybody consistently. Now fast forward till now. There is no way I could vote against him. Like I said, I can't wait. Holla.

Atlanta Grape Lady

Got this one from Ludajuice on Twitter. This is not good.
